My local AM radio station in Chicago had an advertisement for Nielson Research - get $2000 in free coupons. I thought ok - a respectable radio station and a respectable
|company - I would call not because I use coupons but because I wanted to help my family out. So I get this guy on the phone who asks me a couple of demographic questions as if I am qualifying & how much I spend in groceries each month, where I shop - what percent of my groceries are brand name types. My answers were that I don't purchase brand name items or shop at major retailers. He said this program would be perfect for me because I could use the vouchers (not coupons) for any products. He explained that for $19.95 - a one time fee - I would get 1) $2000 in vouchers within 5 days in the mail, and a free access to an online site where I could also shop. Honestly - I was not interested in the last part, but just the idea of being able to take vouchers for meat or detergent to the store, pick my own brands - and Nielson would track my shopping habits. I thought GREAT - I can buy GREEN products - I even mentioned that to the sales rep (asshole liar) and I was honestly excited.
Today - about a week later I get an envelope with a letter and a coupon checklist explainin how to go online and order up to $1000 in free coupons and pay 'only 10 percent' for them. BULLS*T!!! PLUS ALL THE COUPONS ARE FOR brand name items that I WOULD NEVER BUY.
I got ripped off. I won't register on the site and lost $19.95. I was a sucker because i trusted the radio station, nielson, and the asshole liar sales rep.
How do these people sleep at night?
