IXL Resorts raised maintenance fees, no buyback, resorts not available

After investing several thousand dollars to but a one week split timeshare (one week every two years), 2 BR unit at Los Abrigados Resort in Sedona, Maintenance and Club fees have risen to over $1200/week, and no end in sight. Cannot sell and to escape rising costs in perpetuity I am asked by one resale company to pay over $4000. To GIVE AWAY this property. When I bought I was assured that IXL offered a Buy Back program. Does anyone have a suggestion on how I can get out of this bondage. At 83 I don't want to pass on this debt to my children. I would appreciate any suggestions - Shep
