Would not replace cell phone battery

I have been a loyal TracFone customer for 4 - 5 years. The battery on my phone stopped holding a charge. When I called TracFone they said they would send me a replacement battery. The only thing they sent was a new charger. When I called about it they said they would not replace the battery because it was over one year old. I asked to speak with a Supervisor and the left me on hold. I have never seen such poor service and they do not care.
