LLCQiTel Communications, LLC Billed As MONTHLY VM TOTAL CELLPHONE, VOICEMAIL SCAM

A man called and wanted to send me a free cell phone. He claimed to be from Nextel. He said they were trying out new phones with the 2 way radio feature that talked off of satelite signal. The phone was supposed to be a Motorola.

He claimed they were test marketing this service in rural areas to see if they were going to work properly. He said that I would be billed just 19.95 a month on my regular phone bill. This fee would include unlimited minutes, no roaming or long distance, caller id etc. Etc.

The man told me that as the last customer of the day he would waive the setup fee of 29.95 and instead of sending a phone certificate as usual, that he would just go ahead and ship my phone out by UPS ready to use.

They put another person on the phone to verify my order. She said that it was a voicemail service tied into the phone but that it was still only 19.95 per month for everything. She also said it would be billed through a company called QiTel which she pronouced Keytel. (Which is why I couldnt find it on the net.)

Today I received a letter from them saying that they were fixing to activate this voicemail service on my phone for a non-refundable setup fee of 34.95 and 19.95 a month service charge. I got a certificate for a cheap model Nokia phone and/or a Motorola pager.

69.90 activation fee for the phone that only has 100 minutes of airtime with AT&T the small print at the bottom says"End User responsible fo setup, programming and activation fees." It also says that the phone might be replaced with a comparable model depending on availibility. "Another Phone of equal value and functionability may be substituted at the discretion of Global Airwaves. *or comparable network.) OK so where do they come in?

They want 47.90 for the pager! SO what happened to free phone, unlimited minutes and all the rest? Isn't there a law against this sort or fraud??? If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is. On the certificate, they wanted my credit card info to bill the phone and pagers to, HA fat chance! (What happened to free?) And whatcha bet I deduct this off of the phone bill so they dont get paid? Let 'em non-refund that! I'll let them try that for a 30-day free trial!
