On going nightmare with company

Stay away from Colonial Properties. They are very very crooked, and unjustly overcharging tenants. And no one chooses to admit to their mistakes! Since moving in there, I did not get a chance to see the apartment until I was moving things in (excuses, oh they're putting in new carpet, they are redoing the vanities which the faucets were damaged from the get go and no one cared, etc.) Was never told utilities were seperate until after the papers were signed, was even lied to on the terms of my contract multiple times! They said oh you'll be so happy here. Unless you wanna call lieing about parking (and after getting a new vehicle, was told you used the only permit we will issue you so you have to park in these areas. WRONG! I got towed and had to pay for it), getting chewed out for anything I did concerning my dog, I couldn't even walk her because people were so bad, and woodchippers outside the window at 6am for things that didn't even need to be done. There was water damage that caused mold in my ceiling (which was painted over multiple times, there was bubbles in the ceiling so they knew the mold was there and were too lazy to correct it), they did nothing about it. AC was broken all summer, 3months, that is completely unacceptable, esspecially when there are young children concerned! One of the buildings in a virginia complex recently caught fire because of their negligence (funny how they grossly overcharge these people, and yet can not upgrade simple things like electric fuses). I can only guess those poor people will be considered 'breaking their lease' as well because they were forced to vacate much like I was and get some ungodly charge for damages and parking as well. I really hope BBB gets involved and starts sending out pink slips from the top down until these people change their ways.
