Vehicle Service Complaint

3/2/10 I took my vehicle in for routine maintenance (oil change/tire rotation). Was advised that there was some sort of gasket leak which would require attention in the immediate future or eventually the leak would result in the engine burning out. After being advised that the service would cost in excess of $800, I reluctantly agreed. After having my wife pick up the vehicle... I the invoice states the engine gasket manifold was removed and replaced, coolant system service provided... Along with what I originally brought the vehicle in for amounting to $926.00. HOWEVER, if that's not bad enough, I now have panel light illuminating on the dash board (ABS, etc.) Upon my wife informing the Firestone staff of the discrepancies after she entered the vehicle and prior to leaving their property, she was informed that they did no work on the brakes and same must have been a pre-exhisting condition prior to bringing the vehicle in for service. Mind you, none of this was a problem prior to bringing the vehicle in for an oil change and tire rotation. Along with the inconvenience of not having transportation for another day, after I leave work tonight, I have to drop the vehicle back off, leave my keys in the night drop box, catch a cab back home (at least 15 miles), and be without transportation yet another day. I am extremely unhappy with their service for this particular matter.

On a prior occasion 3-4 months ago, I took the car in for an another oil change and tire rotation. After receiving the vehicle back, I noted it was pulling to the left. I contacted Firestone advising them of such, after returning the vehicle a couple days later, I was advised I needed a front-end alignment. Another matter that was not what I initially brought the vehicle in for.
