Shame on the Moon Restaurant
Spiked Drinks

Two of us couples had dinner and drinks at Shame on the Moon in Rancho Mirage last weekend. This is a restaurant that we have frequented for years. The ladies' drinks were spiked that night. The same had happened to the other couple 4 years ago in the same restaurant. The following day after a night of strange symptoms and experiences, we politely asked the hostess to have the owner call us so we could notify him of what had happened. We did not wish to contact the police before we spoke to him, especially since we have been repeated customers for years. No one called us back. A week later we called to ask when he will call and we were aggressively told off by both the hostess and owner. They told us to contact the police if we had a complaint which we subsequently did and the police are now investigating the matter. This restaurant had absolutely no willingness to hear our side of the story. We were not looking to sue or get a free dinner, just to inform them of what had occurred. The other female had repeated falls and the other delusions and hallucinations shortly after leaving the restaurant. I am a doctor and know the symptoms of spiking drinks but we were too ill to consider having urine tests which we should have. This establishment has a history of such behavior and no willingness to acknowledge it. Someone can get severely hurt if this is not taken seriously. We are very disappointed at their unprofessional conduct.
