The National Childrens Association
Timeshare Donation Scam

Miscellaneous

I entered into a written Contract to donate a timeshare to The National Childrens Association (NCA) in March. I was charged a $475 transfer fee, with the agreement that the Charity would handle all necessary documentation and provide me with a donation receipt for tax purposes. The entire process was suppose to take 30 days. It has now been 6 MONTHS! The Charity has been nonresponsive to any telephone inquiries (not answering or returning calls). The only e-mail communication that I receive occasionally (upon me continuously contacting them) is that a representative will contact me, but this has not occurred.

I contacted The Trade Commission and found out that the NCA's Charity license was cancelled on 3/24/10 (a few weeks after I entered into the contract). I have filed a complaint with the BBB and The Dept of Consumer Affairs.

Any assistance would be appreciated. NCA has not fulfilled the terms of the Contract, and I believe I am a victim of a scam.
