Tornado Office Supplies
Looks like they're at it again - phone call from Ann Taylo

We've already been hit in 2008 by Tornado - same story as all of the other reports. They call saying that they spoke with one of the name partners of our firm, and that they can offer us a good deal on office supplies, as their company is going out of business, moving, etc. We received a huge amount of supplies, followed by a huge bill. We figured that we'd been scammed, but just paid the bill, and vowed to never get fooled again. We still haven't run out of Bic pens and staples!
Then, a year later, they shipped us 4 big boxes of supplies that we had not ordered. We sent them back (via Fedex), and Tornado refused the shipment. So the boxes sat in our basement storage area, until Tornado called wanting payment of the bill. They finally sent UPS call tags to return the supplies.
Now today, I received a call from "Ann Taylor" who told our receptionist that she wanted the "head of Accounting", and when the receptionist asked what the call was in regards to, Ann said that it was "personal." Out of curiosity, I took the call, and Ann asked me "who makes the decisions about ordering office supplies in your firm?" I cut her off and said that our receptionist had said that it was my understanding that Ann needed to speak with me about something "personal." Ann said that she was told to speak with either me or Mr. (Name Partner). She said that her company was moving to Las Vegas, and started to go into her spiel about low prices for office supplies. I cut her off again & asked her if she was from Tornado. I could hear her protesting furiously as I hung up the phone.
So, beware - from the reports on this site, it's obvious that this company changes names, locations, salespeople - you name it. But the spiel remains the same!
