I found a 'deal' on a book online. I should have researched the business first.
I ordered the book. No where did I see on the order form that I was signing up for a membership. A confirmation email was sent - twice. Once for the order and again when the book was shipped. NEVER was there anything about signing up for a membership at $9.95 per month.
They charged for the order. Then charged a $1.00 that they have not been able to explain, other than 'they take it out, then put it back.' They never 'put it back.' A few days later they charged $9.95.
When I called to find out what they were charging for, they tried to tell me I signed up for membership and they were not going to refund my money. They asked if I wasnted to cancel and I said 'yes!'. I told them I already spoke to my bank and was advised to speak with them first. They insisted that I signed up for the membership, which I hotly disputed. It wasn't where I could see it on the order form and it certainly wasn't in the email confirmation. The woman with the heavy accent stuck to her script that I knew I signed up for the membership and 'no' they were not going to refund the money. I told her I was filing a fraud complaint with my bank, then I was filing a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). I told her my bank is very good at getting my money back from scammers.
This place has several complaints of membership fraud all over the internet. I'm really curious why they haven't been stopped.
I found this other address on them. I have no idea where this is.
