El Palanque Mexican Restaurant
They told me we didn't need to eat their food / rude to my small family!

My son stopped by this restaurant in Splashtown parking lot in Spring Texas, as we have frequented it about 5 times in past several months. I hope no one expects to leave their own tip, as they add 15% gratuity on their own. We had 4 adults and a 3yr/6 yr. Old granddaughters eating. Owner and manager rude about my debit not working electronically, and said we didn't need to eat their food. My poor 84 yr. Old Mom has limited mobility and lucky to have someone to take her anywhere. My Mom can't stand on her own. The owner had me stand in front by register, and embarrassed us in front of all the incoming / departing customers acting like we were deadbeats I am a retired special ed. School teacher and legally blind. This was all uncalled for. I have taken my family there to eat 5-6 times in last 2 months. We're no strangers. I offered a check and said they don't accept them, and recording from my bank said I had more than ample funds to cover twice the amount of our bill. I called restaurant in good faith that very night, and they didn't answer their phone. Again I tried to contact the next morning starting at 9:00 and concluding conversation, said they would send a gift certificate for gratuity and our trouble, but never received one. Customers should not be treated badly for an electronic glitch and further humiliated in front of perspective customers. I will never return to that restaurant. I deserve to be treated like a human being, not a ravaged animal. I paid dearly for a simple mexican dinner and it left a bad taste for our family wanting to go out for a relaxing evening.
