Readers' Service Lure u w $1000 shopping spree, make charges to credit card and WILL NOT LET YOU CANCEL!

I was at another website and a pop-up about a $1000 grocery shopping spree lured me into calling the number. I called, got a very innocent sounding girl who said it was her "first day working here", who then put me on with a higher-up guy, who then said he was putting me on with his supervisor, a man from Wisconsin, supposedly, who unswervingly kept telling me the company was 25 years old and that I was passing up a wonderful deal. They wanted me to name 5 magazine titles that I'd like to have for $49.90, a one time payment. I asked how much it would be to pay monthly, they said $3.83 and that they'd rather have the one payment to cover ALL the magazine shipments. Supposedly was getting at least one magazine free. I foolishly went for it and gave them my credit card #.

I discovered the $49.90 charge today on my online bank. I received a letter from them today stating that my "payment plan" would be $49.90 per month for 20 MONTHS. The agreement on the phone was $49.90 for 20 months.

I sent them an email (which I found on their Terms & Conditions section, which, once you open it to read it, tells you you are now committed to the contract, so do not open the Terms & Conditions!) I haven't received an email back, nor do I expect to. They have no website, just the pop-up that lures you in (which is where Terms & Conditions is.)

I have contacted my bank and am getting a new credit card so they can't charge me anymore. If they try to tell me the contract is unbreakable, which is what they apparently always say, I will contact my bank, the police, and the BBBureau. I feel so humiliated and foolish for having fallen for this. Don't let yourself get lured into this by these sweet-talkers. They are SO NICE at first contact and the "supervisor" is so reassuring!

I believe my fight has just begun. This is the 5th credit card I've had to cut up (not always for the same kind of situation) this year alone! I THINK changing your credit card number will save you, but I have to wait until the coming Monday to talk to my bank.
