Charged a 25.00 fee for being late 4 days after bill was due

I am not sure if anyone is aware of a new recovery collection fee (effective 07) of 25.00 being charged to customers of Direct Energy as early as 4 days of being late on thier electric bill. I have spoke with several representatives regarding this issues, and they all claim its company policy to charge this fee if a disconnection letter is sent out. The Due date was 03/31, and they posted this 25.00 Collection Recovery Fee on 4/4 plus a 5% late fee of 3.05 for a bill that the electrical use was only 24.97. They paid the previous bill 70.40 on 4/21. I am appalled that a company this size has to resort to these tactics in order to remain in business. (or is it greed)
