Casey's gift card problem

We had a $25 Casey's gift card from Christmas. We used it the first time in March for a pizza at the Casey's in Clarence, IA. They had problems with the card when we tried to use it (with the machine or scanning or whatever) but they finally got it scanned. We had a bal. Of approx. $12.00 remaining we thought. We tried to use it again for a pizza purchase on April 10 at Clarence. They said there was 0 on the card. We asked again - are you sure there is 0? Yes, they said. I called again after we got home and said there had to be money remaining on the card - they said they would check. After phone calls again on 4/11,4/13, and April 15, when the mgr. Said she would call us back, there is still no resolution. They said they threw the card away. We would like some credit for the $12.00. Can you please help? Thank You. Phone calls on 4/1
