I had worked with Hubert Bullard under many events that he had sub-contracted my company for. On multiple occations he had told the festivals that we were both at that he owned the rides that my company provides. The next year that he (or his Son) had the event he had bought his own rides which are not insured. He contacted me 3 days before the event to let me know that he couldn't cover the rides. I coverd him and acctually pulled a profit at this event he missed, at which I gave him his cut of 20%.
He later claimed that we were to give him 25% and that we had never done a 20% split before nor had he ever signed a contract claiming so. We have faxed / time stamped forms with his signature that prove otherwise, Hubert has contacted many of my peer companies in the Myrtle Beach, Florence area as well as in NC to help him out with events however they have had the same problems.
My latest claim is with his business practices with festivals. Hubert is not insured or Liscened in NC or SC however he claims so to any festival he approches with a contract. Hubert goes to these un suspecting events and literaly steals money from these festivals in order to fatten his own pocket, my last dealings with hubert is with paying a festival their split for letting us do the kids area in North Myrtle Beach. He claims that the festival is upset because they belive that we made more money at the event and didn't recive a fair split. After contacting the festival committie it seems that hubert has never given them a dime for any festival and it seemed to be a effort for him to collect more money when he needed it. Did I mention that no profit was made at that said event?
Hubert is a smooth talker and has convinced multiple festivals and even NC/SC show fest that he is a legitamate business man however any vendor that has ever subbed for him knows that this is not the case. Hubert has even slitherd into a contract with Burroughs and Chapin at Broadway at the Beach where he is now selling B & C's Event space for his own profit.
Avoid dealings with Hubert at all Cost, See his dismissal from the staff at cumberland county Fair for ethics Violations if you google him.
