Poor Dentist - Poor Service - Rude and refuses to do simple work

I have been a patient of this doctor for 2 and a half years and have had nothing but problems.

My biggest problem stemmed from the fact that I have two broken teeth that were caused by a rock climbing incident when I was a teenager. I am currently a 30 year old female and am in need of having them redone. They are small chips and I have had them redone one time (in 12 years) using bonding (white filling substance).

I went in to Radley Roby initially to have a basic exam and schedule an appointment to have them filled. He told me that I would have to check with his secretary to see if my insurance would cover veneers because that is what I would need. He also mentioned that veneers would cost about $800 a piece if I had to pay out of pocket.

I talked with the secretary who promised to call my insurance company to check with them on coverage. After receiving no answer, I called back to the office 3 times and finally was told that there was no reason for the secretary to call my insurance because it was simple knowledge that my insurance would not cover veneers.

So, I made an appointment to go back to see the doctor and tell him that my insurance did not cover the veneers and that I would like to have them filled with bonding. He refused to do so. He was a little angered that I would come back to him to talk to him about this when we had "already discussed this." He seemed offended that I would want to put "plastic" on my teeth. He told me that he would not repair my teeth this way and that this is not how he practices. I told him that I have had two other dentists (the original fillings and the replacements) that only suggested these fillings and that I simply could not afford the veneers (this would put me back $1600.)

He told me he would not fill them. I mentioned that I will probably change dentists because I could not afford this treatment plan.

He told me to stop being rude and to leave his office. At this point, the only thing I could do was chuckle to myself as the nurse tried to tell me not to bother with him. I mentioned on my way out that I would be writing this poor review. He told me that he didnt care what I do and that I should leave.

Nice service huh? Please dont get yourself involved with this dentist. He seems money hungry or simply unwilling to do the work.
