Miscellaneous

On Dec. 29 I contacted Royal Relocation Systems of Brooklyn, NY for a quote on what it would cost to move from NJ to GA. Upon speaking with a Frank, the owner and customer representative who processed the order, I told him that I would be moving a three bedroom house, with two baths, a living room and a full sized kitchen. The quote that Frank gave me totaled to be $1143.68. On February 2 movers from Royal Relocation Systems entered the home and packed all of its contents into the moving truck. The move took all day from 9am to 4pm. According to the contract I was responsible for paying 50 percent of the estimate price at pickup, and the balance of the total price at final destination. At the point of payment I called Frank to confirm the price of the total order. Frank tripled the estimate and charged me $4107, nearly four times the estimated quote. Under duress, knowing that I had to be in Georgia by a specific date, I signed the agreement upon the condition that all of my items would be delivered on Saturday, February 6, and paid $1,000 with a money order. Later on in the week on Feb. 4 I received a phone call from a Royal Relocation Systems representative/driver saying that half of my items would be delivered on Friday February 5 and the other half would be delivered on Mon. Feb. 8. The items were delievered on on Feb. 5, around 5pm, and I paid $1900 with a money order to the company. On Mon. Feb. 8 there was no delivery. Afterwards I called the company numerous times to find out when our stuff would be delivered and was met by a belligerent Frank on the phone who refused to give me an exact date. On Feb. 11 one more phone call was placed to the company. Frank refused to give us a delivery date and threatened to charge an addittional $500. Don't ever do business with this company. They are beyond unprofessional and a bunch of crooks. There is a lack of communication between the sales office and the drivers/movers (who barely speak english). These movers can't answer any of your questions and your expected to pay upfront before the work is done. Their customer service is non existent. This Frank guy quoted me a price to get my business and then charged me four times the estimate. I felt like I had to pay it. I had no one else to move me and it would have took the movers twice as long to unpack the truck. Stay away.
