Planethosting Fraudentually stole the domain Playpartner.com

Miscellaneous

In 2002 the company planethosting.com by accepting payment from playpartner.com agreed as per their contract paragraph below.

"
Domain Name Purchase
Weoffer to purchase your domain name for you at the time of setup of yoursite. When you pay for your first month of hosting withPlanetHosting.com, we can put the domain name into your name. After thefirst year, registration is $25 per year. You will automatically bebilled. If you decide to leave our service before the first month ispaid, you will be obligated to pay $25 for the domain name. We willthen transfer the domain name to you. Planethosting.com reserves theright to collect the cost of that domain name. We were with this company about 5 years. They did ask us to move, we did. When we went to point the dns, he had put the domain in his name. We contacted him, he said he held onto the payments (Bank Drawn checks, not personal checks) for some 10 months. Then wanted new checks issued. We agreed if he returned the checks, he refused to do that. (no idea why) We contacted the bank to see if the funds were still good the bank affirmed that being the federal reserve does not void those type of checks after any number of days. We provided the owner of planthosting.com with a number to verify funds and if they weren't good we'd go from there, but he refuses to make a simple call as well. He was paid on-time and owed nothing at the time we left. He admits to being paid.
He has now parked the domain and holding it ransom. His business address comes back to a UPS store forwarding box. We have all emails dating back from 2003 in regards to our account with him. His admissions of being paid, his demands of pay or else. We feel we have been ripped off by this company.
