I recently signed an aggreement to have Greg Kohn... Tricounty Contrating do some remodeling at my house. The project was an addition and was to be preformed upon approval from my ARB Neighborhood board and then subject to city approval. Greg was very anxious to get my business and had his office person Laurie call me often to arrange for him to come get the contract/aggreement signed. This should have been the first clue. The second clue was his willingness to do just about anything to get the job.
My mistake was giving him a small downpayment of $7500 against what was to be a $67,500 job that would take approximately 3 months after blueprints and permits. Mr. Kohn quickly sent his architect Jose Ramos to my house to meet with me but we never did get any further than that as we had to get approval first from the architectural neighborhood board.
I contacted Mr. Kohn and Mr. Ramos to let them I was not getting approvsl and therfore the contract would not be neccessary. Mr. Kohn being a bit smart with indicated he would just keep the money to be used against any future work I might need and was entitled to his profit (for doing nothing other than coming to my house on three occasions).
After several phone conversations and his unwillingness to return the funds I even suggested he give me half the money and keep the other half to preform some work in the future... He quit taking my calls when I told him he was dragging his feet. He actually gave me his lawyers name and told me to have my Attorney contact him.
So I am now waiting on the attorney's to fight this out... We'll see...
This is where I stand at the moment and will fight this case to the end.
