Illegal late fee, cheating involved

Sometime ago I had a $247.89 onlne purchase with Sony Inc. I made the payment online in time. However, for unknown reason, I received a postcard saying that the payment was returned unpaid. I immediately submited another online payment with the same bank and the same information as previously provided. This time The $247.89 was accepted. Unforfunately I was subjected to a $29 late fee. I then sent a letter to chase Customer service and request a cancellation of that late fee to no avail.
Now they increased it to $45.50.
