This is for all the people being scammed by Magazine Source/Budget Marketing:

Those of you who wish to cancel your account with Magazine Source/Budget Marketing. It is very easy to do, just call them at 1-800-456-6565 or locally at 515-243-7000.

Tell the customer service rep that you want to cancel. You will get a seemingly surprised response. The rep will go through a whole list of rebuttals to try and retain you as a customer. My advice is to cut them off and tell them you are going to the attorney general and you also have a lawyer looking into the matter for you. I guarantee they will cancel your account right away.

If you do not know, Budget Marketing/Magazine Source has a class action suit against them, they will cancel your order. You can also get a refund pretty easily also. You have to be a mean SOB when you call, and you will get your way. The reps back off very easy, when confronted with aggressive customers. Try to get a refund for all the money you paid in. Tell them you never ordered magazines and claim fraud.

For those of you who do not know how this works:

Millenium Marketing out of Kansas (913-248-1800) is the people that everyone places the order with, and is the place where people are being ripped off. Magazine Source/Budget Marketing is just the processing company that handles customer service and collections. They do not do much of the scamming in Des Moines, IA. It is the Kansas office that most of these complaints should be directed. Yes they Lie, and basically use the philosophy "what the customer don't know, won't hurt them." They are and evil bunch, and would sell one of these orders to their own mother to make some money.

Keep in Mind, after you cancel your order with this company, make sure they send you a letter stating this was canceled, or for god's sake, make sure you do not have more than 1 account with these people. If you do cancel them both. Do not take "no" for an answer, but also do not swear, because it will hurt their pristine ears, and they will end the call with you. (scared)

It would also be a good idea to change your checking account information and/or credit card information. They sell this information to other companies.

One last note to help you all out, if you start getting calls from a company called "Western Reader's Service" hang up as quick as you can, they are in cahoots with Millenium Marketing.

Just doing my part to help the folks this company has wronged in the past 20 years. If everyone calls and cancels their order, there will be no more Magazine Source. I have it on authority that they are going out of business and are in a liquidation mode as we speak.
