I purchased a Whirlpool Washer on 12/13 and a 10 year Major Component Warranty from an HH Gregg Store in Akron Ohio. My complaint is with GE and not HH-Gregg.

This is my third time that I have called for warranty for my washer and dryer in the last 3 years and each time I have been given the run around. My current situation is that today, 6/9 I called GE at 800-284-7344 to have my wash machine serviced and when I called Jessica from Assurant Solutions said that my contact was cancled. I called HH Gregg where I bought my appliance and extended warranty and talked with Chris (a store manager). He looked at my account and it shows that my contract was active.

I asked Chris from HH-Gregg if he would do a 3-way call with me and GE. He agreed and we spent 30 minutes talking to multiple departments and each time, they would not tell us why the contract was cancled. Finally we asked for a manager and talked with Alex. He said that he could not tell us why it was cancled but gave us a number to fax the information from the store. I was told that it would take until Friday or Monday for me to schedule my service call.

I called back twice and talked to two different people and asked them why my contract was cancled. They said, "Cancled by Dealer request on 12/22/05". I wonder why Alex was unable to give us this information?

If this was my first problem with GE warranty support then I would have probably just dealt with it. But since this has happend a few times before, I'm sure I'm not the only one that has an issue with GE. Since GE owns the contract it should have been their responsibility to contact me when someone canceld my contract. This would have given us the chance to look into the issue before we had to schedule a warranty service call on our unit. Now we are in a situation where we are without a washer machine and the money we paid for the warranty.
