Leaky PODS Causes Mildew Damage - PODS 8X8X16

Our PODS was delivered with mildew inside. Inspection revealed a gash in the roof (forklift) and water entered the PODS in a small but sufficient amount to destroy a finial on our cherry queen headboard and 2 signed & numbered prints, one by Guy Buffet, plus a 9 x 12 area rug. We also lost numerous linens, some clothing, etc. But counted ourselves fortunate and decided not to "nickel and dime" our claim. We initially worked with the Gen Mgr of the SF Bay Area, Brian Burk, who came out, inspected the PODS and verified our damage. Subsequently, our claim was turned over to Herb Leinberger of Corporate PODS. Herb works in Risk Management. Somewhere in the process, PODS determined that the damage had occured in the Landover, Maryand franchise facility and that they would be responsible. Just today Herb contacted my husband to say they were offering us $800 on our $2400 claim. This is outrageous. We are suing them in small claims court and will keep this site posted.
