Cross Country Bank A $350 account went up to $2,300!

About eight years ago, I opened an account with Cross Country Bank, now known as Applied Bank. I was only 18 at the time and was only making minimum payments not knowing in the future would hurt me. As much as I was making my minimum payments every month, my balance did not seem to lower. I got into an accident and was unable to keep making my payments eventhough they were small and did I mentioned my limit was only $350!! Years passed and my account was sent to a collection agency. They are the worst ever... Do they get pay to be this mean and rude? Mmm I wonder. Well, they hunted me every where, my job, parent's home, my home, I mean every where. For a while I stopped hearing from them until in when I wanted to purchase a house that I noticed that the $350 credit had gone up to $2,300!!! I called them and wanted to negotiate the debt, they refused my $500 so I told them I couldn't pay then. Now, that I am on the edge of signing my escrow documents and one of the conditions is to pay off my account with them and get a deletion letter. It's driving me nuts. I've been on the phone with them for the last two months, every day, all day, they keep sending me back and forth... NO HELP!!! Why do they do this... I settled for $1,150 but they won't give me the letter I am asking for. They are saying that I have to pay the remainder balance. Really? $2,300 for a freaking $350 credit limit... I honestly think they are the worst people ever and a huge rip-off... Please people be careful with this company... I need help please!!
