Youg fast talkers, saling childrens books. Offering tax write offs. I had 2 of theses at my door in a week

I had 2 young men at my door in a week, the first one I simple said no thank you too. My husband listened to the 2nd one and He seemed Ok, nice & likeable. Since we were Steeler fans he even made comments about that. He was smooth, fast talking, selling childrens books to help him with college trip.

Both stories had very similar stories, they ask personal questions, they live in area or next Street over but yet I have never seen them. They also claim they know your neighbors. They say their parents are paying half their way and helping with the cost. For $49 we were suppose to help with childrens books to a local hospital and get a tax write off.

I seen a chart with some books but I never picked any of them? I wrote the Check but when I look at the recept there is only His first name on it, nothing more. No mention of books on the form or if or when they will be delived? No Phone Number?

I looked online and found lots of complaints on them. So I called the BBB and they checked for me. They have a "F" rating. They have had many compliants, over 55 in the past year, only 10 of those they even responded too.

I do not mind helping or giving to a reputable cause but I think it is terrible to lie and not provide a phone Number or link to check this product out, that is customer service. This is the worst kind Of scam. So beware out there people!

I stopped payment on my check the next day so that cost me $25.00 but it is the principle of the thing now. We work hard for our money and give when we can. I will never fall for someone selling me a line of Bull at my door again. I told my Hubby just say NO!
