Brian Glendale and Nichole Hamilton Check cashing scam. Sweepstakes scam. Fake check to cash

I received a letter in the mail today along with a check for $977.00. The letter instructed me to cash the check and Western Union $850.00 to J.J. Hamilton. Once I sent the Western Union I was to call J.J. To let them know and then they would send me my $9,000.00 prize.

Of course I went right to Google to find reports and I found three, two for the month of September and one for the month of August.

The check was "Bank of America, Dallas" but the the city on the check was Austin. There was no water markings on the check or contact information for the person or company issuing the check. That stood out first when I initially looked at it.

I warn everyone who gets one of these letters/checks. Don't try to cash them. Shred them immediately and expose them to whatever site you can. So more people won't get scammed.
