I hired Jerry Scharder to remove mold from a limestone shower. He insisted that I needed to replace the entire shower at an expense of $3000 (should have gotten a second opinion). This guy mismanaged the job from the start. First he demolished my shower before confirming he could find the materials needed to rebuild it... And guess what... He couldn't find them.
I paid him $1500 in advance and he came back to me on day 3 of the job and said he needed more money for materials - I should have clued in then that I was getting ripped off.
He ended up buying 18 / 18 tiles when I needed 16 / 16. He had to cut them down (which he did poorly) and I ended up wasting another $350 on scraps.
I fired him at the end of the first week. His work was sloppy and unprofessional. He left a mess everyone. Never showed up before 10 am and rarely worked more than 4 hours / day.
This guy comes across as polite but lies about everything. He's incompent and dishonest. Don't do business with him under any circumstances. I lost $2100 and had to pay someone to repair all the damage he did to my home.
