The Wal-Mart Pre-paid Visa Card is a Rip-Off. They robbed my 17 year old daughter of $300.00 and they gave our social security numbers to some company to be processed overseas

My 17 year old daughter went to Wal-Mart to cash her McDonalds paycheck at Walmart. She was looking at the pre-paid Visa cards and the cashier assisting her talked her into purchasing one of the cards. He told her the funds would be available immediately and the $3 check cashing fee would be waived if she put her money on the card. She put $300 of her check on the card. The card package does not say you must be at least 18 to purchase the card. When she went to validate the card she was told that it could not be validated because she was not 18. I stepped in so that I could validate the card for her so she could have access to her money. I have a card also that I use for purchases on the internet so I thought this would not be a problem. I have a valid social security card and identification-I've never had a problem. I had given them my name and social security number over the phone. I later found out the customer service people were in India. They told me they would mail a paper check refund within 7-10 business days. This was unacceptable. I went back to Wal-mart and they deny responsibility. This product was purchased in their store and my daughter received a Wal-mart receipt after the transaction was made. Ed the Walmart manager said that it was not Walmart's responsiblilty to refund that check and that we bought the card from the Bank of Georgia and not Walmart even though we have a Walmart receipt, the card says Walmart Money Card and it was purchased from Walmart. Walmart has put my identity in jeopardy with overseas thieves, they refuse to accept responsibility for this and the robbed a 17 year minor American citizen. I have spent thousands of dollars at Walmart, but I will never shop there again. From now on I will shop at. These stores are now competitive and they have brand names that are lower priced now. Walmart will never ever get a dime of my money ever again!!!
