Hay spears that are poor quality

Miscellaneous

We came across these spears at a hourse show and on the outside the look quite good. They are small and will go on the three point of a small tractor for small space work. We purchased one and tokk it out to try it and on the first use the spear broke in three places. We contacted the company that we purchased it from and they told us that we had to contact the manufacture on the spear. We did that and were told by them to contact the selling company. This went back and forth and then we were told to ship it back to the company and they would see if it was defective. The shipping would cost more then the replacement spear does. I think that they know how much the shipping cost and only want to sell replacement parts as well. They have lost a fair sale because we were going to buy ten of them so that we could use them on all of our small tractors at our three ranches.

The other part of this is the danger of the spear braking while lifting the bail. Most bails weigh around 1000lbs. Now if that comes down somebody or someone is going to get hurt. We have taken it to an Engineering Co. And they confermined that the spear had a casting fault in it when delivered. We sent pictures to the company and they just stopped responding. I think they either do not care or something. All they want to do is sell the equipment.
