Bulldog puppy rip off

This lady claimed to have a bulldog puppy sale. She said she bought him and then her other german shepard male dog didn't like having another male in the house and she needed to find him a good home. We emailed her about it and asked for pictures. She sent us pictures. We decided we didn't want to spend that much money and told her if she wanted to negotiate to let us know (thinking someone would probably pay full price).

She wrote back to us and asked how much we were willing to pay. When we sent a counter offer she kindly accepted. She stated she'd rather have it go to a good home than have all her money back. My husband called her (she never answered the phone when he called, always screening the calls). He asked her many questions about the dog and she had all the right answers, "he's crate trained, he can't come out when the other dog is out, I don't like that they can't be out together and I want to get him to a good home as soon as possible." He asked about how the puppy would get here. She said she would ship him to us, not a problem.

Then we didn't talk to her for a day because I ended up being in the hospital. My husband called her to tell her he would wire her the money as soon as I was out. We later received an email (after we'd paid her) that she was waiting for the airport to confirm the light it would take 24 hours.

In the mean time, my husband started feeling a little weird about the whole thing so we googled her name and found another report on her. Now we wished we'd looked sooner. I also sent her a bogus email from a made up email address asking her about the dog. She responded with the same pictures she'd sent us before and said "yes the baby was still available." And this is after we'd already paid her for the puppy we thought we were receiving.
