Sent me a bogus approval letter for financing a loan

Received a email from a company named EAGLE CREDIT FINANCIAL located at 89 Broad St, Boston, MA 02110, phone number 1-877-233-9298, Rep: JAMES MOTT. Contained next is the text which states"CONGRATULATIONS! Dear MAURY this letter is to inform you that your loan application for the amount of $10,000 has been approved. You may contact toll-free at 1- (877) 233-9298 to receive your terms. Business hours are Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 9:00 pm. Thank you eagle credit financial. The kicker was that I called the number and the first thing they wanted was money to secure the loan in the amount of $500.00. This $500.00 was to be sent to Victoria Cosigner Incorporated somewhere in Canada. Did my research and found out that there is no Eagle Credit Financial in Boston, MA. There is a company Eagle Credit Union located in Boston. This information is being passed on so that no one will be scammed by this company.
