Wretched Landlord Will Take Your Deposit

I thought that my experience with Jason Shroot was an anomaly, but it appears that others have had the same experience.

Shroot advertises rooms for rent on craigslist regularly, usually in the Irvine area. They are beautiful homes, fully furnished, and at first, he seems like a nice guy.

I rented a room in a house from him, and it was the worst month of renting I have ever experienced. I am a respectful tenant, and have never had any other problems in rooms I have rented.

The real trouble came when he told me that he was going to ask me to move out after just two weeks of being there. I quickly found a new place and moved out, but he kept most of my security deposit and refused to provide adequate documentation to support him not giving my money back.

I had to take him to court and won.

Recently, I have been contacted by two other people who have had similar experiences renting from Jason.

Do not rent a room from this individual.
