Not A Moving Company — Scams, Nationwide

I should have checked before I agree to have this company move me. Looking at the other reports on usacomplaints.com read like my story. Worldwide Van Lines will book your move then subcontract it.in my case to a fly-by-night company in Colorado. They didn't give any details to the company. When my move date came there was no call (they say they will call 48 hours in advance). Turns out the subcontractor driver knows nothing about the move, doesn't know he is supposed to make a pick-up, needs to go get packing material, shows up with a truck which is too small (because he already has another load on it). Meanwhile Kevin Lyle is the "supervisor" at Worldwide Van Lines who says he will "take care of everything". He will not return phone calls, emails, faxes, etc. Also, there was a specified date after which the delivery was to occur. I had it confirmed in emails with Phindy at Worldwide, I wrote it into my contract specifically. They said they knew nothing about it and tried to charge for storage (because the date THEY picked to pack me was 4 days before delivery.

Please, please do yourself a favor. Stay far away from this company. They are only going to shuffle you off to some bozo subcontractor. Our driver said all the time it gets misrepresented and people think they are actually going to get "van lines" when all you get is some fly-by-night company. I have seen other complaints and the Worldwide people try to put it off to broken down trucks, underestimates of the amount to be moved by the customer etc. Trust me, these people are not on the up and up. I will make a formal complaint with the regulators but don't do what I did. This is the worst experience of my 58 years with any company doing business — bar none.
