I purchased a wooden baseball bat and glove at dicks yesterday spending $115, brought it home, pitched 5 slow pithes to my 13-year-old, and the bat broke. I returned to the store this morning only to find they will not take returns on bats unless they are unused!? Wtf? They said I would have to contact the manufacturer directly to see if they would replace the bat or refund my money. There was no return policy or warranty info on or anywhere near the bats, so I assumed I could return the defective product or at least get store credit. I probably would have purchase another more expensive bat had that happened, but I ended up leaving the store with my broken bat and not buying anything. I have spent thousands of dollars in that store over the years, but will rethink their competetors for my next purchase. My advice: check ALL return/warranty policies BEFORE you purchase ANYTHING! I have yet to hear back from the manufacturer: Rawlings.
