Watch out for this scam. I was approached and figured it for a scam but others (many) have been caught by it.
A good looking 'Italian' (probably fake) guy in a flashy big car/SUV stops and asks for directions, engages you in conversation, pulls some line about being a fashion designer, might show a business card, says he's leaving for Italy tonight and has to offload some 'leather' jackets (or similar). He'll try to get as much money as possible for them and later you'll figure out that they are worthless trash vinyl etc
