The Reed Center/S.T.A.R
Disregard and Poor Service

Miscellaneous

When I wnet to see Dr. Reed in the summer of he suggested laser treatments for the rosacea on my chin and the blood vessel on the side of my nose. He said that treatment would produce "miraculous results."

My first treatment with Karen Blass for laser treatment resulted in several surprises. First, during the treatment, she said, “I am going to do some microdermabrasion as well.” I didn’t object because I didn't know it would add an additional $300 to my bill. I did however ask how many laser treatments she thought I might need, and she said, “Definitely two, but no more than three or four.” She also assured me that I would see “dramatic results” by the third treatment. When I paid my bill at the end of the first treatment, I did not say anything about the amount I was charged for the microdermabrasion.

I came for two more laser treatments. At the second session, Karen asked me if I wanted microdermabrasion, and I said no. I could not see any results after the second session, but I came back for the third session, anticipating the “dramatic results” she had promised. There was no discernable difference after the third session, and I already had a bill of $1250—an amount that is certainly a luxury for me. Nevertheless, I would have absorbed that cost if I had seen any results.in an effort not to squander what I had already invested, I called Karen to find out what she anticipated in terms of my treatment. This is where my story goes from bad to worse. I called Karen repeatedly, leaving messages and asking her to return my call. I sent her emails with similar requests. She never returned a phone call or answered an email. I have copies of those emails. I have a log of the calls I made. I called the Reed Center twice and left messages for her, thinking perhaps there was something wrong with her cell phone. When I called the center the third time, I spoke with Claire (I understand she no longer works there—the only good news in this saga). She was rude and confrontational. She told me it was “impossible” that I had called and left message. She said she would hang up, call Karen, and have her call me back immediately. This was just before Christmas. No one ever called me back.

I never went back to the Reed Center though I sent two letters directly to Dr. Reed, mistakenly believing that he would want to know about the poor service I received at his center. I feel that my requests were ignored and that I wasted $1250, a significant amount of money. My skin is no better, and I am hugely disappointed and out a lot of money.
