Internet bandwidth unethical trickery scam unfair hidden Cape Town

I opted to take a 1GB data bundle on my MTN account. While downloading some files purchased online, my cap ran out at some point.
I was not notified of this and instead MTN billed me at R2/megabit and not the R0.24/mb that my data bundle affords me.
Had I been alerted that my data bundle had expired, I would have simply taken another data bundle and continued my download. Now my phone bill is at more than R1000.
I think that this is an unethical, cheap and underhanded tactic on MTN's part aimed solely at catching cosumers off guard and unaware.
I would like a written apology from MTN and a commitment from them to issue alerts when data bundle caps are reached in the same way that they do for limits imposed on call charges.
I would also like the data usage in question allocated to my data bundle bill and not my call bill. I don't want a free-bie, just to pay data rates for data downloaded and not pay call rates which I think is very unfair.
I feel very strongly about this unethical business practice and I'm sure that there are many other disgruntled MTN users out there who feel the same way. MTN should know that I will do all that I can to expose this sleazy practice should they choose to ignore this request.
