2 year warranty

First of all I would like to state that up until this morning I have never had a problem with Nike.in January I got my son a pair of Nike sneakers. It snows where we live so he did not start wearing them until just recently. He is young so he wears them to go back and forth from daycare and shopping. He has worn them maybe 20 times. The seams are already ripping out. I called Nike and was informed that their shoes come with a 2 year warranty. The woman I spoke with advised me to go to their web site www.nikebiz.com and start a claim. I went to the website and discovered that the warranty is only good for 2 years after the manufacturing date (which is printed on the tongue with the size). Even though I have only had the shoes for 2 months they were manufactured 3 years ago and Nike will not do anything about it. The shoes were purchased as a gift by my sons grandmother and she no longer has the store receipt. I just had to go and get another pair of shoes for my son. This time I checked the manufacturing date on them. I would advise everyone to check the manufacturing date on Nike shoes from now on since they will not help you if they were manufactured over 2 years prior to them falling apart. As I said in the beginning I have never had an issue with Nike in the past.in fact I currently have a pair of Nike sneakers that I have been wearing for over 5 years. This may have just been a random issue but, the fact that they will not do anything is what bothers me.
