I had a payment agreement with Professional Credit Services, in which I agreed to pay $100.00 a month on old medical bills for which they had won a judgment against me. I had paid more than half of the judgment, but they went ahead and garnished my bank account anyway, and then when I complained, they set up a payment agreement with me. I was to begin payments October. I sent in two separate payments in October, putting me a month ahead at all times, so that I could stay ahead of the payments in case anything happened to my finances later on. I paid faithfully, on time, every month, and then in January my mother became very sick and then died and I had to come up with her funeral expenses. Knowing I was a month ahead of the payments, I sent them a $25.00 payment in January and then a total of $125.00 in February, which left me still $50.00 ahead of the payment schedule. They claimed I had paid a month short and so without further notice, garnished my entire bank account, leaving me completely destitute. How can they do such a thing when I was ahead of our payment agreement schedule?
