Miscellaneous

Received a letter stating I won $275000 in a January Sweepstakes. A real check for 3821.00 was enclosed. It was drawn on Bank of Texas and had Darling Intersts Inc as the business listing on the check. Well I called Bank of Texas and had them check it out. They told me to throw the check out as it was no good. The business Darling is a home construction company so I called them and let them know they were listed on this check as the signer. They were completely upset and had no idea. I tried calling the number on the letter and got a message stating thanks for the call but no way to leave a message. I was suspicious as I've read of these scams taking people for thousands.

Also, in the letter it stated to deposit it in your account so the appropriate processing fees could be withdrawn. Well, if you win real contests you never pay you only receive so I knew it must be a scam. So beware!!!
