Its more like the Great American Ripoff!

In December I rec'd a phone call and was offered a 1000 gift card due to my good credit. I was told I was in good standings with Visa and they got my name that way. They were super nice to me and assured me it was a safe/secure company and only worked with banks and been doing it for yrs with no problems. I was told there was 30 day cancellation policy. Then they did a survey about the call and offered a benefit package. UBA benefits advantage. It incl. Restaurant coupons, etc. I told them that I did not want it and they charged me for it anyhow and mailed it to me. Theres no phone number to cancel it. The number i did eventually get, I couldnt get through. It was automated and could not leave a message.

After all this was done, they asked me for my info. So since they lead me to believe they were safe, secure, and legit I gave them my info. They verified it all with a supervisor. I was told I would rec. A package in the mail along w / a 1000.00 gift certificate and I had so many days to use the gift certificate and I never used it. I had a bad feeling when I rec'd "The Package" something didnt feel right.

I didnt mail anything back, I never signed anything, I kept turning down the UBA benefit package and all of a sudden, I am receiving tons and tons of magazines that they picked out and mailed to me. I had nothing to do with choosing any magazines.

They have withdrawn a substantial amt of money from my checking account. I have contacted my bank to dispute the charges. I also would like to note that I did try to cancel this whole thing 2wks later when they called again to see how the service was and if I was satisfied. I told him that i wasnt rec. Magazines and wanted to cancel since it was before the 30 day trial was over. The guy on the phone gave me the run around saying that i will most likely be charged before the magazines got there (which i never ordered). The man I was talking to said he would call me back and he never did. I tried to call again and like i said above, couldnt get through.

So to date, They are calling me and harrassing me telling me I have a 500.00 balance. I kept telling a woman named Jessica that i tried to cancel it before and she was sooo rude and nasty about it telling me I couldnt cancel. I talked to another women, named Laura. I was told I was a month behind and in collections. I told them they couldnt do it since i was 1 payment late and she said yes they could. I was told I was a debter that owed them and I better pay up.

The conversation went on so bad, Jessica stated that they would harrass me for 5 more months and said what do you think you have some kind of power. I told her that I was going to report her, the company, contact the news papers, BBB, Attorney General and anything else I can contact to tell my story. I was then told I was recorded from the first phone call and that I did verbally sign up for it. Jessica also called me a Liar and said in this case the customer is never right.
