Work Career Systems
CAUTION: My advice is to NOT proceed with their Job Seeker Registration

As another laid off victim due to our economy, I have been diligently using job search engines such as Monster & Career Builder, along with my state's employment website.
I happened upon Work Career Systems while searching jobs on job.com. I was excited to see multiple positions matching my qualifications & interests.in-depth job descriptions were included; although the hiring company was always a 'Confidential Client'.
Ok, nothing about this raised my eyebrows so far...
So, to apply, it states 'Confidential Company' has opted to have you complete their application on a site they specified... So, you're taken to a site with Work Career Systems' name & the job position id number in the URL.
As I began filling out the 'Job Seeker Registration', I'm asked if I want schools to contact me for higher education; am I interested in owning my own business; would I like to be qualified for a free online course; am I a citizen, felon, what's my credit rating, & would I be interested in improving my credit score?
NOW, the next screen was my RED FLAG & I ABANDONED THE PROCESS!
They want 3 references (with at least 1 being professional (former or current employer), with dates worked, contact name & title, and their phone & email address.
NO WAY! This is too early in the game to be giving out references.
I don't know about you, but my references are confidential. I only provide them to known (legitimate) employment agencies or, when a hiring company has considered me a serious candidate.
The only url I could find on Work Career Systems was http://workcareersystems.com/About. Cfm.
This is my cautionary tale.
