Leaking batteries

I bought a new radio in December. I also bought 8 (eight) C Duracell batteries required. The radio worked fine until today it did nothing. Upon turning the radio over the bottom was full of battery acid. I spent about $14 not including tax for these batteries and I think 6 weeks for batteries to work and besides leak all over my counter is not acceptable. Robbery in fact.

I am very glad they were not in a childs toy! Or that the radio was not sitting on anything that could have been destroyed.

I tried to find a complaint site for Duracell but it does NOT exist. The very least I should be compensated for the money I spent on these batteries. Not to mention the time I spent cleaning the inside and outside of the almost new radio and my counter top.
