Paid $4.95 for free trial s&h... They charged my bank acct. $78.81 for same!

I paid $4.95 with debit card for FREE TRIAL S & H charges and was aghast when I found a charge of $78.81 on my bank statement. Called company and was told I "did not rspond" within allotted time to cancel further shipments and must therefore pay the FULL PRICE! What a bunch of bull! Demanded a refund and had to fight with them... They said "return unused portion" for refund, which I did... No refund ever came through.

This "company" is a rip-off of the highest order... I am 70 yrs. Old and this debit to my acct. Caused an overdraft, for which I had to pay the bank $30, so I am out $108.81! I live on S.S. And now my bank acct. Is in the red until my next direct deposit on Feb. 3rd.

Can't SOMETHING be done to end further rip-offs of other people?
