My husband and I got one of those phone calls from a company, "Star Vacations" (or something like that name) to come hear a 90 minute speal and we would be able to win a 32-inch TV.
We went, listened to the whole thing, sat with a gentleman with balloons, listened to him trying to sell us a time-share, we said "No thank-you", he kept lowering the price of the time share, we kept saying "no", finally we were ready to leave, the salesperson went and got our gamecard to see what we won (was not a 32-inch TV), and we scratched it to see that it was a free trip.
We gave our game card back to our salesperson and we were told that we are to expect the information in the mail. We got it all right. We read the letter and our "free dream vacation" would cost us $50 per person ticketing/service fee, at confirmation approximately $120.00 to $280.00, and pay for our hotel and airline taxes.
We did not pay anything nor did we take the trip. The US Airlines sent us a postcard to claim our two roundtrip airfares too. A free trip it isn't.
