Absolutely the worst place to work in all of America, bar none!

Probably the most dishonest company in insurance. I got a job working in transportation with promises of a salary and unlimited earning potential. Shortly after I was hired everything was great. I was doing very well in sales then they hire a new guy to come in and revamp the department. He immediately started firing people and moving accounts over to other sales people. That would be fine except they arent going to pay anyone on the accounts for at least two years. He eliminated the salaries of people he fired so it is making him look like he is doing a great job but now I hear noone is renewing because sales people arent really contacting them because they know they aren't gonna get paid. I know for a fact that at least 8 producers have left and gone to other agencies and now make a higher %. Now Cottingham is trying to sue them for working within 25 miles of a Cottingham office, even the ones they fired. They think they are the mafia, once you work for them you cant work anywhere else. I could go on for weeks about other things they have done including hiring someone to open up an office in Tennessee then firing them to replace him with someone that already worked for them and completely moving his book over and not paying the new producer. These people are truly con artists. Don't let them fool you with taking you out for drinks and a nice meal, they do that to everyone so you will think they are your buddy. If you are thinking about getting into insurance this is the worst place you could possibly get a job. They're plenty of other agencies that offer better pay and better working conditions, unless you like servicing your accounts for the first couple of years with no help from the service department. PLEASE look around before you get a job here, you will be very happy you did!!! These people are NOT the only game in town so dont let them fool you!!! Their Small Fleet division is an absolute joke, you could start your own agency and get all the same markets-I know people who have!!! Don't let them fool you, you will be getting paid about 22% on new and renewal business, the industry standard is 35%.
