Starke County Legal System Court appointed lawyers gettin too many clients, justice not served to criminal or victum

If you are appointed a lawyer by the court system, and you are being sentenced, shouldnt your lawyer have came to the jail and talked to you about your case before you are sentenced. (in this case Stake County Jail and the court appointed lawyer is Richard Ballard on Main st. Knox, IN).

To protect name the criminal will be referred to as Joe. For the simple reason, he is incarserated and they will give him problems if they heard someone was thrashing to them but really bringing issues to the surface.

I have never seen such a circus in a court until I sat and listened in a court hearing at the Starke County Courthouse. Professional? Not one bit. I am not saying all of the court house, but the CIRCUIT COURT.

Joe has done some bad things and was incarserated, he sat in starke co jail for 3 mos, then was given a court appointed lawyer, due to he could'nt afford or have the means to pay for a lawyer.

Well when the date came for him to be sentenced he has not spoken to the lawyer or seen a hair of him. While the court proceded. The lawyer was so unprofessional it really was sad. The lawyer told the judge he had not had enough time to see joe, and the judge asked would you like more time, the lawyer responded, yes. The judge said how much time do you need? The judge pretty much introduced joe to his lawyer at a sentecing... What is wrong with this picture???

These are people that should have their stuff together, and people you should be able to trust. The C.A. Lawyers are getting more clients than they have time for. This affects someones life, time they could be out getting their life back on track. Like i said im not sticking up for joe, because if you do the crime you do the time. But so many people are noticing it is not justice. If you dont have a big name or??? Your screwed. I hate to put it that way, but anyone from this area will agree.

I am a working, married, mother that keeps to herself, but this is bull and something needs to be done...
How do you fight the law??? I am too scared for my families sake to stand up for what i believe and what is right, that is why it has been wrong for so long i feel people are scared to take a stand!

This is just 1 example, almost every person I talk to say they know someone that went through the same or simular to this case.

Also being a tax payer myself, I am paying this man that got his license from a crackerjack box, he's not helping clients, hes helping them give up because it's in the county's hands and they are crooked, watch the movie felon. Gives you an idea what it's like in there, to have no control, and to top it off the big heads are twisted.

Also a female i know very well, was incarserated and when she was released, told some really gross stories of females doing sexual favors through the bars for cigarettes. The jailer Officer did get in trouble but is still on the force... What is wrong with this picture?

I know these are considered acusations because no one was charged, but its true.

If you feel the same way file a usacomplaints.com something might get done if we all take a stand, and take a chance what could it hurt? Really?
