Never contacted me for canceling my order

I placed an order in November, I received an e-mail with my order number. When I checked the website to find out when the order was to be shipped, it stated that the product was on back order. I checked again tonight (New Years Eve) and it states that my order was rejected and canceled on December 23. Why??? Plus, they keep showing their ad on tv. If they ran out of their product, they should stop the commercials. Or, are they taking customer's info and will later make charges to their accounts...?
