Prepaid MoneyCard Was Non-Refundable and Required Personal Information

I recently purchased a WalMartmoneycard prepaid visa (or so I thought) at a Wal-Mart in Concord N.H. For my mother for Christmas who lives in Utah. The cashier asked how much do you want to put on the card I said $25.00, the total was $37.94 ($12.94 for the card) My first surprise, then she said you will need to activate the card online the information is on the receipt. I was very surprised to find out when I went to activate the card that this was no EZ task, and begin to get very frustrated when I was asked to give name, address, DOB, SS# (All this for a prepaid visa card? Are you kidding me).

Then after hours of frustration online and on the phone where no real people exist I realized this is not a prepaid card at all. Well ok then just return the card, it as not been activated should be no problem right? WRONG! This is a non-refundable card but you don't know this until after you have purchased the card. No was on the packaging does it say nonrefundable.

So after countless hours of frustration and long lines I have $25.00 out there in limbo land some where because I will not give the personal information required to activate the so called "Prepaid MoneyCard" I will get my mother something else for Christmas but it won't be anything from Walmart (hopefully she gets it in time for Christmas).
