I started working for Summit Merchant Solutions a month ago. Thus, the nitemare begins. I chose the company because they offered me 'qualified, solid appointments'... What a JOKE! They send you to these appointments that are not real. Out of a total of 40 appoiontments, I had a grand total zero merchants who were expecting me. Most told me had specifcally asked NOT to send anyone in. I was actually able to sell their service to a couple of merchants, but the deals all went south when Summit charged them extra, and the merchant cancelled. I assume the reason for their 'appointment' system is that if you actually sell them service or products, you make way less comission.
The company itself is a total joke. Your team leader is the sleaziest used car type you cold ever hope to talk to. The contract you have to fill out is a book
(honestly, 35 pages or so) and the training is on how to hide actaul costs from the merchants. I took this job because I needed to work, but it has cost me pleny to 'work' for them. Please understand, I am a seasoned sales professional and I can deal with sales issues all day long, but this place is aweful.
After some research, I have found that Summit also has done business under at least one other name, and keep other dba names to use once it is found that they are a total rip off. Bottom line is, stay away from this hell, whether you are a job seeker or merchant. PLEASE do yourself a favor and don't put your good name on the line when there is a 99.9% chance that the company will screw both you and te merchant. I cancelled my last sale, after several other mechants got TOTALLY screwed.
